There are museum quizzes and trails for children visiting the museum. School visits are welcome and teachers packs for Florence Nightingale and Animals and Us are available. Please see Education for further details or contact the museum on 01252 868820 if you are planning a school visit.
Unfortunately the museum does not have refreshment facilities. However, during the summer months we recommend the Tea Rooms at the Basingstoke Canal Centre, which are nearby. There is also a public house within walking distance of the barracks.
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
We’ve compiled a list of guidelines to help make sure you get the most out of your visit to the museum.
Our standard open hours are Monday to Thursday from 10am until 3.30pm. Other times available by appointment. Allow 1-2 hours visiting time.
Admission to the museum is free. Donations are welcomed as we rely heavily on these to keep it this way.
